The 'WANT' of 'NOT WANTING' it!

Alright, since the title isn't very clear, I'll do it quickly before your brain ponders to (ahem!) Fairy Land.

Many times, knowingly  or maybe unintentionally we end up doing undesirable things.

Result: distress and frustration.

Okay listen (I mean read!)

So...

Once upon a time there was a great great King with a  not-so-great personal life. Albeit a beautiful wife, happy children, flourishing kingdom and increasing prosperity, he was sad!

Because he found that his wife was cheating on him. Raging fury made him order a death sentence for her (fair enough??)

Since we are many centuries back, and on the land of Olympics, Greece,  the beautiful Queen was DECAPITATED.

(Shocking! But twas' common then. Death punishment in those times).

He felt so angry and bitter that he decided to make sure it never happened again: by bedding a new virgin wife every night and having her decapitated the next morning.

But one day,  yet again a stunningly beautiful girl,  Cassiopeia was  extraordinarily smart too (beauty with brain). She had a plan to snap the king out of his bloodthirsty frenzy. Every night, she would tell him one of the most bewitching, mesmerizing stories he had ever heard and interrupt it right at its peak, promising to continue the next night.

And every night, the king spared her life for just one more day.

The wise men of the king tried to awaken him, from his deviated cause of sleepless nights.  But he couldn't live in the curiosity which she left him in, every night.

So...

What happened at the end, I'll tell you later. PROMISE!!

So what I'm trying to say is, the king was very well aware that he was being 'CARRIED AWAY' from his mission(although brutal and wrong). Since he was unable to help himself, how could  the others?

Coming to the next,

My 12th grade boards. I was so anxious , mind working in all directions at the same time! So I used to read articles on 'How to not get distracted'.

(ask me if you need any,  I know all 101 tips)

In the end I got more distracted switching from one article to the next and so on, (when I should be doing my academics).

So 'DISTRACTION' . The example I gave was very bland,  couldn't afford to tell the spicy ones! (Oops).

And

Next is'PROCRASTINATION'.

Ahmm! No stories here.  I'm sure you've your own plenty.

So after all these ,

The 'WANT'of 'NOT WANTING'  to get

1. Carried away

2. Distracted

3. Procrastinating

.

.

.

And what not to add to the list .

It's all in your hands, you know it, what you want or what you don't . You just need determination (strong one) and everything else what inspiring books, videos ,and people tell.

Tell me how you manage to not do, what you shouldn't. ( Cause I'm still struggling ah).

What else...

Yes about Cassiopeia,

With enormous courage and wit, she managed the unthinkable: After firing up the king’s passion night after night with her thrilling stories about wonders, love, and danger, he spared her life and made her his queen (number two).

Cassiopeia saved her own life, and thousands of others (the king’s future brides), with the mesmerizing power of storytelling.

So think wisely , are you being the king or Cassiopeia!!?  (I mean being Carried away or being firmly determined?)

  7. Be yourself and love yourself. We all get distracted and carried away. Well, most of us do things on impulse and regret. ( I am so impulse at 55, imagine how impulse and distracted I was at your age!!) Enjoy your life and be happy thats most important.
Procrastination and its solution is to make a list of priorities and stick them somewhere where everyone in the house can see and keep reminding you to do them! Sometimes procrastinating a thing to be done can be a good thing as well. It gives us an insight on how to go about doing it well by maybe doing it a little later.

Changing dream, my beginning.

Do you have everything that you ever dreamt of?  Did something fall off your  suitcase, while  you were hurrying through different stations of life? Since I was a child I always aspired to become a medicine practitioner ( a surgeon to be specific), but not everything goes according to your plan.   Does it? No no , not that I wasn't a bright student or I didn't have the ability to nail it, but I had  wasted my opportunity. The country (India) where we live, as soon as you are able to speak, the only question you have to answer is - " Beta bade ho Kar kya banoge?" ie " What do you want to become in life?". So everyone I knew then, already knew what I planned for myself. All this is bearable, but the pressure which develops becomes harassing. But this isn't what I'm trying to tell. After so much of planning, invested time and effort the end result was I will be able to call myself a doctor ,but a paramedic!  MBBS was a out of reach with my score, so aft...
